todays letter, the letter A!

For my  integrated studio class which is basically methods and concepts smooshed together in to a piece of unwanted hassel and a side of virtually no time or individual attention, we were assigned the task of modifying the concept of a "t" shirt and instead were told to create and alphabet shirt. this project was actually alot of fun and i got a lot of really great conceptual design ideas from this project. i Chose the letter A  for Aly and made a few preliminary sketches in my croquis book, none of which really were constructed for jersey material, a rather difficult fabric to garner a structured silhouette out of, so i abandoned the original intention but took from it the idea of a cropped belly shirt. to my astonishment the fabric was a tubular knit so i was really excited when i figured out a way to use just one stitch on the ultimate dream machine ( the industrial overlock) and a smidge of hand tacking. i created this beauty below and am excited to wear it! although the ook is not normally something i would design since it is so minimal there is a beauty to its grecian flowyness, ultimate wearability, and interesti g centerfront thats very hip and totally new york.i messed around on photoshop and took some funny frolicking pictures of yourstruly.
